Nice to see you on here Danny.
January 1, 2021 at 12:35 pm NZDT #6248Paul SpainKeymasterI found things to use a decent chunk of points on. Now I need to earn some more points, however I’m picking destination options will be limited for sometime.
January 1, 2021 at 12:33 pm NZDT #6247Paul SpainKeymasterI’ve started booking short holidays again recently – have just ensured I pay the extra for them to be refundable. Reasonable prices to Cook Islands and Queensland in April school holidays.
January 3, 2019 at 10:40 am NZDT #5397Paul SpainKeymasterI’ve not often used hotel lounge facilities, but I like your thinking. Super handy in some situations such as when checking in early after a long flight and room isn’t ready yet.
November 26, 2018 at 5:50 pm NZDT #5291Paul SpainKeymasterOn my tickets the first name and last name are usually run together too. I’d love to know why.
November 3, 2018 at 11:06 am NZDT #5217Paul SpainKeymasterVery pleasing New Zealanders will be treated better at the UK border from mid-2019. I know I’d not like to be left waiting 2-hours or more at customs, so it’s a good move in my books.
August 20, 2018 at 10:48 pm NZST #4972Paul SpainKeymasterIf I’m going to be travelling between San Francisco and the Bay Area I find staying near San Franicisco Airport (SFO) can work out well – along with a rental car. It all depends what your plans look like. In and around San Francisco finding parking is a challenge so using a mix of Lyft, Uber and the BART are often good choices. And they have e-bike sharing services too if you feel like riding around – checkout the Ford GoBike option.
May 24, 2018 at 8:57 pm NZST #4701Paul SpainKeymasterA 40% discount on Qantas Club memberships makes them super cheap. It’s just a pity Qantas no longer fly direct from Auckland to Los Angeles and then onto New York with the same plane these days.
May 22, 2018 at 5:10 am NZST #4680Paul SpainKeymasterThey had (or maybe are still having) a promotion for BC and PE – register in advance and get 24 hours free.
That’s handy. Did you happen to get a feel for how fast it was – such as a SpeedTest.net result?
May 22, 2018 at 5:06 am NZST #4678Paul SpainKeymasterI just flew China Airlines who gave me free wifi. The price, had I paid, was $25 for 24 hours access.
Do you know why you got it free? Was it because you were flying business or maybe due to being a frequent flyer with China Airlines?
May 21, 2018 at 10:28 pm NZST #4674Paul SpainKeymasterKnowing that travelling by plane is lower risk than driving somewhere I don’t usually focus too much on airline safety. And I read 2017 was the safest year to fly in history (44 deaths).
In my younger years I flew with some airlines with not so strong reputations for safety – such as Aeroflot (a flight to Moscow) and Garuda Indonesia.
May 21, 2018 at 9:55 pm NZST #4673Paul SpainKeymasterThanks, very tempting!
May 18, 2018 at 9:45 pm NZST #4622Paul SpainKeymasterIt looks like Air New Zealand are experimenting with WiFi pricing currently. Tonight current Air NZ Wifi price is $30 on a flight from AKL-SFO (as reported to @TravelTalkNZ over Twitter by Nathan Mercer). Over time we may see lower pricing still – especially on shorter flights.
March 8, 2018 at 2:37 pm NZDT #4224Paul SpainKeymasterCool offer Kiwiwings! Are the express departure/arrival cards definitely specific to Emirates? For some reason I figured the cards were the same regardless of airline.
March 8, 2018 at 2:34 pm NZDT #4223Paul SpainKeymasterI’ve cancelled a few Flexiplus flights. I just looked one up it took at the most 3 days for the refund to be issued.
