Auckland International Airport is located about 20km from the Auckland CBD. The Airport has a two terminal buildings - one each for domestic and international services. The airlines that operate from Auckland include Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Fiji Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Hawaiian Airlines, Jetstar, Korean Air, Qantas, United, Singapore Airlines , Thai Airways, Virgin Australia.
- Onsite parking - There are options for both short and long term parking. Parking less than 15-minutes is available for free.
- Offiste parking - there is official offsite parking, plus other options such as Airpark Canterbury which is more competively priced than Christchurch Airports own parking.
Public transport in the form of buses go directly between Christchurch Airport and the CBD transport hub. Buses to/from the Airport also stop in various other locations. As of early 2017, the one way adult bus fare to the Christchurch CBD was $8.50 if paid in cash, but only $2.55 with a Metrocard.

Avis, Budget, Europcar, Ezi, Thrifty and Hertz all operate from within the terminal and have vehicles onsite.
A number of other rental companies including Go Rentals, Apex, Rent-a-dent and Ace Rentals all operate off-site and offer shuttle pickups from the airport.

There are two potential workarounds:
- In the Uber App, drag the pin for pickup location to slightly outside the airport - then contact the Uber driver to see if he will pick you up someone on the airport grounds
- In the Uber App, drag the pin for pickup location to slightly outside the airport - then walk to that location
Air New Zealand has both domestic and international Koru lounges at Christchurch airport. The main domestic lounge is after security, and offers an amazing view of the tarmac, runway, and Southern Alps. A very small regional lounge is present in the regional departures area which offers very basic food and coffee options. Showers and bathrooms are only present in the main lounge.
A contract Manaia lounge is used by Qantas and Emirates. This lounge can also be used by Priority Pass card holders.
Jucy Snooze Christchurch is about 13-minutes walk from the terminal, and offers both basic ensuite rooms and low cost private sleeping pods (in a shared room). Adjacent to the Spitfire Square shopping area and MacDonalds - handy to restaurants and the supermarket. Includes Free Wi-Fi.
Upgraded in 2015, Sudima Hotel Christchurch Airport is listed as 4.5 stars, providing quality accommodation and conference facilities for travellers. There are 88 executive rooms and suites, a bar and restaurant along with conference facilities.
