Hurrah! Apparently, NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan and the US will be able to use e-gates.
I arrived into Heathrow T4 recently and it was painful to see 3 agents manning the desk, then 2, then 1. Ugh! I don’t know how long it took to clear immigration and they only ask you how long you’re there and why you’re entering the UK. Anyway, hope it happens!
Lol will the UK still exist in mid 2019?!
Very pleasing New Zealanders will be treated better at the UK border from mid-2019. I know I’d not like to be left waiting 2-hours or more at customs, so it’s a good move in my books.
Well, whatever goes down in their messy politics we’ll still be able to get in faster! I hope…. I did read they don’t always have all of the gates open.
Given the whole commonwealth relationship I’m surprised we haven’t been granted access earlier. We’re a really small country but managed to let a number of other countries use our smart gates.
