My first experience with them was a major let down. Flight cancelled! I was smart though. Didnt hang around, went straight to the gate and got a refund and a $100 credit which sadly expired.</p>
Other flights with them habe been fine so far. On time with great staff. I would fly them again, infact I’ll use them when i go to Rarotonga in January.

You have way too much time on your hands 😉

I however would love to see Billicart salmon in economy. More chance of John Travolta turning up as my pilot  on my next Qantas flight (oh wait!)

If I had the room, I would go down that avenue. The benefits obviously with sharing your home, is meeting new people and making a few bucks.

But how do you sell yourself. A few lollies is a nice touch, but having stayed at an Airbnb previously, you come across all sorts from gift bottles of wine, fresh baking. Strawberries in the fridge etc. Just how far do you go?

I can recommend the Fairmont in Singapore. Get’s overlooked for the Marina Bay Sands which is sad but it’s an great hotel, with outstanding staff. Loved the check out lounge which was available for the rest of your day before departing for the airport (includes shower with their lovely Le Labo Rose 31 toiletteries)

In other words, look like a local and not a tourist (on a cheery note, I once convinced a NY cabbie I was a local lol) easy to get conned otherwise 🙁

I use the Qantas rewards card. I know people will always discuss rates and what is important to them but for me, I get the benefit of Qantas dollars on my own cash and although I lock in at NZD from my own bank account, I can purchase any currency available at that days rates.

The advantage over withdrawing cash from an overseas ATM is the charge of $2.50 Way cheaper than the banks rate of $7.50

I loaded euro on last year and used it easily in most of the countries I visited. I still used cash but not wanting to scream ‘I’m a tourist come mug me’, I found it preferable over cash in all honesty.

It really pays to look around as so many places are offering extra benefits in joining, find what suits you:-)

    Hi.

I don’t have goolies nor am I cat.

I was born over a bathtub (long story) and spent my first few weeks of my life in a suitcase. Literally.

I’m a seasoned traveller and live to travel. This bug will never die.

In my spare time when I’m not travelling I work in IT as a mobility specialist looking after our fleet of tablets and apps for a large refuse company.

I’m a Qantas member with a very sad status of bronze and air nz airpoints member with a shamefully low status.

Qantas invited me to a media launch a few years ago where I took delight in winning a holiday for two. Since then I blatantly love them with a passion.

Try the naviti on Korolevu. An approx drive of about an hour and a half from nadi.

They do an all inclusive all you can eat and drink style vacation and have baby sitting and kid club events.

I was there about ten years ago and although they had a major fire a few years ago, the resort has been rebuilt. Sister hotel to the more upmarket Warwick hotel.

Situated on the coral coast and not far from sigatoka.

Qantas have launched their in-flight wireless service in the past week but on domestic routes only over Australia. Not available on the jetconnect run flights here.

Interestingly enough, budget airline Norwegian have offered a free service since last year. While recently flying to Sweden from LGW, I was pretty impressed with the speed. No blocking of websites (mind you not going to watch porn as some would lol) and the general quality.

I paid $1 on Emirates last year for 500mb ( first 10mb free) bit wasn’t as impressed with theirs. With the exception of the odd tweet being sent, çonnection wasn’t great which I can only put down to the full flight.

I’ve seen this story twice now on stuff under the travel segment over the past week.

Kudos to Etihad showing their human side but you can’t help but notice the timing of the article after the United fiasco.  Scoring brownie points perhaps?
