The Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort in New South Wales is setup as a high-end conservation-based retreat in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

We drove about 2.5 hours’ from Sydney to reach Wolgan Valley. The resort is set in a stunning valley situated between two national parks and is within a 7,000-acre conservation and wildlife reserve which guests are able to explore freely or with a guide.

Upon arrival in the Wolgan Valley area I fell in love with the massive natural bush paradise that stretches in every direction. The incredible rock cliff faces were lit up in both dawn and dusk as the sun rose and set. I'm sure those visitors that hadn't previously seen photos of the valley would have been amazed.

Each suite is set apart from the others to provide some privacy and comes with two mountain bikes. There were also options to explore on horseback or in a four wheel drive vehicle.

Due to it being a high end resort with a price tag to match (typically AU$2000/night per unit) - this is not the sort of resort most can afford stay for an extended period. In fact one staff member confided in me that the average stay is just 2-nights. Naturally, I imagine most guests leave wishing they'd stayed longer (as I did).
