Auckland Police responded last night to an alert that a drone, flying at approximately 300m, interfered with the approach of an incoming flight at Auckland International Airport around 9pm.

Some 40-minutes later an additional alert was received about a drone being flown in controlled airspace, at around 200-250m,l.

Police have reminded drone operators of their responsibility to comply with New Zealand’s Civil Aviation laws the incidents near Auckland Aiport. More information on the rules and guidelines for drone use can be found at: www.caa.govt.nz/rpas
