Air New Zealand had won several awards for its Premium Economy product from UK based airline rating site Skytrax in their 2018 World Airline Awards.

Skytrax run the world's largest airline passenger survey, with over 20 million survey entries counted for the 2018 awards.

Singapore Airlines topped the tables winning the award for the world's top airline, pipping 2017 winner Qatar Airways. Qatar Airways, ANA, Emirates and Eva Air rounded out the top five.

Air New Zealand came in at 17th place overall, up from 19th place in 2017.

Air New Zealand came out tops winning first place overall for their Premium Economy product offering, and first place overall for their Premium Economy seat. They were tipped for first place by Aeroflot in the Premium Economy catering category.

Air New Zealand's Premium Economy offering features Zodiac Business Lite seats across its Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, featuring a 2-4-2 layout on the Boeing 777-200ER and Boeing 777-300ER, and a 2-3-2 layout on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

During 2017 the Award winning Premium Economy Spaceseat was replaced by the Zodiac seat on the Boeing 777-300ER fleet during the refit of these aircraft.
