Back in the day you would jump on Aerolíneas Argentinas, get off at Buenos Aires jump on another flight to either Sao Paulo or any other major interior city in Brasil, we would go to Porte Algeria in the South of Brazil, where the family lived, but Aerolíneas Argentinas, stopped flying to NZ years ago, so these days you either go Via Dubai on Emirates Airlines if you have the cash to slash, or go Via Santiago on Air Chile, either way it costs a bundle, or is there an even better way, ( Cheaper way ) that anyone might suggest.
I use SkyScanner.com which is pretty good at sussing out the best options, and for Auckland to Sao Paulo it looks like the most cost and time effective option is LATAM to Santiago then on to Sao Paulo. But still not cheap!
You still have the option of going via Buenos Aires or Santiago on Air New Zealand, or via Santiago on LATAM – both with similar prices really.
Skyscanner as advised above might be the cheapest or even STA Travel they helped me with a very competitive pricing to Brasil via Santiago (LAN Chile) and return via Buenos Aeras, this was during peak time 2014 Football World Cup.
