Without staying there, this looks like my favourite new hotel in Welly!
Google maps says bus 91 from the airport goes straight there. I’ve never actually taken the bus in Welly but there is a first time for everything.
Won’t be as cheap as Hotel Cousin & Hotel Aunty but my curiosity has been piqued.
Correct, opened a few months back. Same street as the Intercontinental. Yes, the airport flyer stops just across the street on Lambton Quay – I am planning a weekend stay there sometime in the next month, with wife… (and yes, I live in Wellington).
I’ve also been planning on a stay there since I’ve heard reports of Hilton Diamond members getting good upgrades.
Pricing seems a little on the steep side IMHO, but you can always drop prices if you can’t fill a hotel – it’s hard to put prices up.
On occasion we stay in the city in Auckland so we don’t have to worry about who’s drinking how much and who’s driving.
Look forward to some sort of feedback (doesn’t have to be a report) as you’ll both beat me to it 🙂
There are a tonne of hotels in major cities and although there are lots that are really quite nice, I find there are few that I ‘gel’ with. My suspicions from pics are that this might be one of them.
