Good news for Kiwis planning a holiday to Nam. New Zealand passport holders are now eligible to apply for a Vietnam tourist visa via their (trial) electronic visa programme.
To apply go to:
https://www.immigration.gov.vn/
Although last time I tried it timed out so they may still be doing some work on it. I’m also not sure of the cost at the moment but I expect it’d be cheaper than the NZ$125 from the embassy in Wellington.
December 5, 2017 at 3:07 pm NZDT #3813Adam JobbinsKeymasterI can’t get the http://www.immigration.gov.vn/ website to load either. Maybe it’s getting slammed
December 5, 2017 at 3:16 pm NZDT #3814floydblokeParticipantDoes appear to work. Looks like it’s US$25. But NZ isn’t in the drop-down list for valid countries yet (nor are any of the other newly added countries).

December 6, 2017 at 6:29 pm NZDT #3824Paul SpainKeymasterThis is great, will certainly make it easier. I’m seeing the website down too though.

Despite the article, it appears the form on the website hasn’t (yet) been updated to include the newly added qualifying countries.

The ‘official’ list has also been updated with the latest inclusions
December 8, 2017 at 11:56 am NZDT #3833Adam JobbinsKeymasterHave a brief article up about this now
December 17, 2017 at 2:36 pm NZDT #3853KiwimacParticipantGood to know. I was there in August and September and I got the sticker in the passport before leaving NZ as the previous VOA system was worse – arrive off a long flight and wait ages in a big queue to get the sticker…!
This will be easier although perhaps not for multi entry which I often need.

How long did it take to queue for it? Any recollection on the cost?
