New Zealand passport holders, as well as those from Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and U.A.E. are now eligible to apply for an electronic visa to visit Vietnam. Under the program, travelers can apply online for 30-day, single-entry e-visas by paying a non-refundable application fee of US$25 (Approximately NZ$37 at time of writing).

Travelers holding an e-visa can arrive via any of Vietnam’s eight international airports, including Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, Noi Bai in Hanoi and Da Nang. They can also arrive via land at 13 international border gates, and via sea at seven ports across the country.

e-visa applications take 3 working days to process, and the outcome can be checked via a web portal after this time. It was not clear from the information available if applicants are proactively notified of the outcome.

Travelers can apply for the Vietnam e-visa through the Vietnam Immigration Department website.
