I’m still doing my head in trying to find a reasonable way back to the UK without spending (a) a fortune and (b) too much time in Economy.

I have noticed that it is very hard (if not impossible) to do split class bookings on most airline websites. By this I mean that – if we take a theoretical route from Auckland to London that involves one stop over, it’s not possible to (say) book one leg in business and one in PE or whatever.

If you then do it as two seperate bookings, you can, but it usually ends up with a much higher total fare…!

Sounds like a great reason to call a travel agent… should be easy for them.  they dont usually charge fees do they?

For work i often look up fares/routing on airnz then ask agent to book with correct US star alliance airlines for second leg as airnz site mostly chooses alaskan or virgin nowdays 😖
