Not sure if I’m missing something here but I got an email from Air NZ last week explaining the new Airpoints bonus for subscribing to The Economist.
Now a normal years subscription is $640 for print and digital, but you can now get a 400 Airpoints dollars bonus for signing up.
I notice also Mercury is doing a 10x Airpoints offer at the moment.
Why would anyone bother when it is free from your local library? Maybe I should post a thread on this.
The $400 is a pretty good deal – but I guess it’s just bringing it back to the true value of a subscription of $5ish per issue. You’d have to be crazy to pay the $15 cover price for the magazine.
We get Time at home and that’s somewhere around $3 or so per issue with the deals they have.
