    here i was thinking i’d book PE, and then apply recognition upgrades…. only to find that OneUp is the only option 🙁

    Any tips?  (or explanations)

    ok, i was advised to give them a call… sure enough they loaded the request manually.  #fingerscrossed

    Good luck… At least the chances should be good – if you think not everyone will bother calling the call centre.

    I’ve seen on a number of occasions an error coming up saying the system is down at present when trying to lodge an RU or Elite APD upgrade.

    Rather than actually being down there are a number of scenarios primarily involving code share or interline flights on the same PNR that will mean the system will just spit out that generic error. In this situation you need to call Air NZ and they’ll process them manually. If people ever need to do this and you’re an Elite make sure you ask if there is R or A availability in case the upgrade can be immediately cleared.

    Weird, never seen that before. Hope the RU comes through!
